Bee & Rhododendron

Bee & Rhododendron

We have had a rhododendron which has no business thriving in our cold climate but is now more than 30 years old. I was doing some hand held macro in order to submit a closeup to a photo contest held annually by my alma mater. I feel that this image combines macro with mildly abstract art. I think I will submit this one

    Vivid colour and fine detail in 'Bee & Rhododendron'. I like the softness of the flower pedals contrasting with the bee. Should do well in the contest.

    It looks to me that this Bee is a graffitti artist, and you caught him in the act.
    Just imaginating on a summery afternoon.
